That the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: “O you people! Indeed Allah is Tayyib (good) and he does not accept but what is good. And indeed Allah ordered the believers with what He ordered the Messengers.

He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: ‘O you Messengers! Eat of the good things and do righteous deeds. Verily I am well acquainted with what you do (Al-Mu’minun 23:51).’

And He said: ‘O you who believe! Eat from the good things We have provided you (Al-Baqarah 2:172).’ He said: ‘And he mentioned a man: ‘Who is undertaking a long journey, whose hair is dishevelled and he is covered with dust.

He raises his hands to the heavens and says: ‘O Lord! O Lord!’ Yet his food is from the unlawful, his drink is from the unlawful, his clothing is from the unlawful, and he was nourished by the unlawful. So how can that be accepted?’’”

Ebû Hureyre (r.a.)’den rivâyete göre, Rasûlullah (s.a.v.)

Size rızık olarak sağladığımız iyi şeylerden nasiplenin ve Allah’a şükredin, eğer sadece Allah’a kulluk ediyorsanız.”

Ebû Hureyre dedi ki: Rasûlullah (s.a.v.), bir adamdan bahsetti uzun seferler yapan saçı dağınık eli yüzü toz toprak içinde olup elini uzatıp Ya Rabbi Ya Rabbi diyerek duâ eder; halbuki yediği haramdır, içtiği haramdır, giydiği haramdır ve devamlı haramla beslenmiştir. Böyle birinin duâsı nasıl kabul edilir? Diğer tahric: Müslim, Zekat; Dârimî, Rıkak Tirmizî: Bu hadis hasen garibtir.

Bu hadisi sadece Fudeyl b. Mersuk’un rivâyetiyle bilmekteyiz. Ebû Hazım’a, Eşcaî’li denilir ismi, Selman’dır. Azze el Eşcaî’nin azâdlı kölesidir

The note in this edition

What it means

The Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) delivered a speech on the day of the Conquest of Makkah, saying: O people, indeed Allah removed from you the arrogance and fanaticism of jāhiliyyah and the boastfulness about one's ancestors. People are of two types: Either a believer who is pious, righteous, and obedient to Allah Almighty - and this is honorable in the sight of Allah, even if he does not occupy high status among the people. Or a disbeliever who is wicked and wretched - and this is insignificant and worthless in the sight of Allah, even if he occupies a high status, strong position and authority. People are the children of Adam, and Allah created Adam from dust.

Allah says: {O mankind, We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes so that you may recognize one another. Indeed, the most noble of you before Allah is the most righteous among you. Indeed, Allah is All-Knowing and all-aware.} [Surat al-Hujurāt: 13]"
