Two old ladies from among the Jewish ladies entered upon me and said “The dead are punished in their graves,” but I thought they were telling a lie and did not believe them in the beginning. When they went away and the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) entered upon me, I said, “O Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam)!

Two old ladies.” and told him the whole story. He said, “They told the truth; the dead are really punished, to the extent that all the animals hear (the sound resulting from) their punishment.” Since then I always saw him seeking refuge with Allah from the punishment of the grave in his prayers.

Hz. Aişe sonraki bütün namazıarda Resulullah Sallallahu Aleyhi ve Sellem'in kab ir azabından Allah'a sığındığını duyduğunu söylemiştir.

Özetle Resulullah'a müslümanların kabir fitnesine uğrayacakları vahyedilmemişti. Bu sebeple yahudilerin kabir azabı göreceklerini ifade etmiştir. Dolayısıyla daha önceki bilgileriyle amel etmiştir. Kabir azabının yahudilerden başkası için de geçerli olduğunu öğrenince bundan Allah'a sığınmış ve namazda kabir azabından Allah'a sığınılmasını emretmiştir. Zira namazda yapılan duanın kabulü daha muhtemeldir

What it means

Two old Jewesses from Madīnah entered the place of ‘Ā’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) and told her that the dead are punished in their graves. ‘Ā’ishah denied what they said and refused to believe them, for she did not like to believe the Jews who are known for lying, religious fabrications, and distortion of the Scripture.

After these two Jewesses had departed, the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) came and ‘Ā’ishah informed him of what they said. In response, he said: “They spoke the truth", for the dead are subject to torture that all animals can hear. Then, ‘Ā’ishah went on to inform us that she never saw the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) ever since offer a prayer without seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.
