حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَرْعَرَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ زُبَيْدٍ، قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ أَبَا وَائِلٍ عَنِ الْمُرْجِئَةِ

فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: «سِبَابُ الْمُسْلِمِ فُسُوقٌ، وَقِتَالُهُ كُفْرٌ»

The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said, “Abusing a Muslim is Fusuq (an evil doing) and killing him is Kufr (disbelief).”

যুবায়দ (রহ.) হতে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেনঃ আমি আবূ ওয়াইল (রহ.)-কে মুরজিআ’ সম্পর্কে জিজ্ঞেস করলাম, তিনি বললেন, ‘‘আবদুল্লাহ (ইবন মাস‘ঊদ) আমার নিকট বলেছেন, নবী সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ মুসলিমকে গালি দেয়া ফাসিকী এবং তার সাথে লড়াই করা কুফরী। (৬০৪৪,৭০৭৬; মুসলিম ১/২৮, হাঃ ৬৪, আহমাদ ৩৬৪৭)

ہم سے محمد بن عرعرہ نے بیان کیا، وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم سے شعبہ نے بیان کیا، انہوں نے زبید بن حارث سے، کہا میں نے ابووائل سے مرجیہ کے بارے میں پوچھا، (وہ کہتے ہیں گناہ سے آدمی فاسق نہیں ہوتا) انہوں نے کہا کہ مجھ سے عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ نے بیان کیا کہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ مسلمان کو گالی دینے سے آدمی فاسق ہو جاتا ہے اور مسلمان سے لڑنا کفر ہے۔

Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Muhammad bin 'Ar'arah] berkata, Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] dari [Zubaid] berkata: Aku bertanya kepada [Abu Wa'il] tentang Murji`ah, maka dia menjawab: Telah menceritakan kepadaku [Abdullah] bahwa Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "mencerca orang muslim adalah fasiq dan memeranginya adalah kufur

What it means

What it teaches

• It is obligatory to respect the Muslim's honor and life.
• The grave outcome of one who reviles a Muslim unjustly, for such a person is Fāsiq (defiant sinner).
• Reviling and fighting a Muslim weakens and diminishes faith.
• Some acts are called "Kufr" although they do not reach the major Kufr that results in apostasy.
• "Kufr" here refers to minor Kufr that does not result in apostasy according to the unanimous agreement of Ahl-us-Sunnah, since Allah Almighty has established the brotherhood of faith for the believers in case of fighting and disputing, as He says: {If two groups of the believers fight one another, make peace between them} until: {The believers are but brothers.}
