حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ
قَالَتْ: لَمْ أَرَ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَصُومُ فِي شَهْرٍ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ صِيَامِهِ لِلَّهِ فِي شَعْبَانَ، كَانَ يَصُومُ شَعْبَانَ إِلا قَلِيلا، بَلْ كَانَ يَصُومُهُ كُلَّهُ
“I did not see the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) fast in any month more than his fasting for Allah’s sake in Shaban. He used to keep fast through all but a little of Shaban; no indeed, he used to keep fast through all of it!”
