The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) neither ate on a dining cloth, nor ate soft bread throughout his life. One narration adds: He (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) never even saw a Samit lamb. Samit is an animal prepared for food by removing its hair by boiling water, and then roasted without being skinned. This type of food is preferred by wealthy people. (Editor’s Note)
