Imran ibn Husayn and Abu Barza said that when they went out with God’s messenger to a funeral he saw some people who had removed their cloaks and were walking in shirts, and said, “Do you adhere to the practice of pre-Islamic times?” or, “Do you copy what was done in pre-Islamic times? I feel inclined to invoke a curse on you that you should return metamorphosed.” Then they took their cloaks and did not do that again.
