وَعَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رضى الله عنه
قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -«اَلْمَدِينَةُ حَرَمٌ مَا بَيْنَ عَيْرٍ إِلَى ثَوْرٍ»

صحيح. رواه البخاري (6755)، ومسلم (1370)، ولا أدري سبب اقتصار الحافظ في عزوه للحديث على صحيح مسلم إلا أن يكون من باب السهو. وقد أثير حول هذا الحديث بعض الإشكالات، فأحسن الحافظ رحمه الله في الجواب عنها، انظر «الفتح» (4 / 82 - 83)
