The Messenger of Allah (radiyallahu anhu) stayed at Tabuk for twenty days, and he shortened the prayers (during his stay).
وَلَهُ عَنْ جَابِرٍ
«أَقَامَ بِتَبُوكَ عِشْرِينَ يَوْمًا يَقْصُرُ اَلصَّلَاةَ» وَرُوَاتُهُ ثِقَاتٌ، إِلَّا أَنَّهُ اُخْتُلِفَ فِي وَصْلِهِ
The Messenger of Allah (radiyallahu anhu) stayed at Tabuk for twenty days, and he shortened the prayers (during his stay).
صحيح. رواه أبو داود (1235) من طريق معمر، عن يحيى بن أبي كثير، عن محمد بن عبد الرحمن بن ثوبان، عن جابر، به. قال أبو داود: «غير معمر لا يسنده». قلت: وأجاب عن ذلك النووي، فقال في «الخلاصة«: «هو حديث صحيح الإسناد على شرط البخاري ومسلم، لا يقدح فيه تفرد معمر، فإنه ثقة حافظ، فزيادته مقبولة». وأعله أيضا الدارقطني، ولكن أجيب عن ذلك»
