The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said to me, “Say the truth even though it is bitter (i.e. difficult to admit).”.
عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ رضى الله عنه
قَالَ: قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ -«قُلِ اَلْحَقَّ، وَلَوْ كَانَ مُرًّا»
The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said to me, “Say the truth even though it is bitter (i.e. difficult to admit).”.
صحيح. رواه ابن حبان (361 و 449)، وله طرق عن أبي ذر، وله شاهد أيضا
