Ikrima heard Aishah, may Allah be pleased with her, say that she saw the Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam), may Allah bless him and grant him peace, raise his hands in supplication, saying, ‘O Allah, I am only a man, so do not punish me. If I harm or revile a Muslim man, do not punish me for it!’
