Ubadah b. al Samit said to his son: Son! You will not get the taste of the reality of faith until you know that what has come to you could not miss you, and that what has missed you could not come to you. I heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) say: The first thing Allah created was the pen.

He said to it: Write. It asked: What should I write, my Lord? He said: Write what was decreed about everything till the Last Hour comes. Son! I heard the Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) say: He who dies on something other than this does not belong to me.

Ebû Hafsa'dan (rivayet edildiğine göre); Ubâde İbn Sâmit (kendi) oğluna: "Ey oğulcuğum. (Kaderinde) sana isabet eden şeyin (sana ulaşmakta) şaşmayacağını, (kaderinde) sana isabet etmeyen şeyin de sana erişemeyeceğini (iyice) bilmedikçe hakiki imânın tadını bulamazsın. (Nitekim, ben) Rasûlullah (s.a.v.)'in (şöyle) derken işittim: "Allah'ın ilk yarattığı şey kalemdir.

(Yüce Allah kalemi yaratınca) ona: Yaz! emrini verdi. (Kalem): Ey Rabbim neyi yazayım, dedi (Yüce Allah'da:) Kıyamet kopuncaya kadar (olacak) herşeyin kaderini yaz! buyurdu." Ey Oğulcuğum! Ben Rasûlullah (s.a.v.)'i; "Bundan başka (bir inanç) üzerinde ölen kimse benden değildir" derken (de) işittim

What it means

‘Ubādah ibn As-Sāmit (may Allah be pleased with him) gave his son, al-Walīd, the valuable advice to believe in fate, the good and bad thereof, and explained to him the good consequences of believing in it and the evil consequences of denying it in this world and the next. He supported his advice to his son with the Hadīth of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) that states that Allah has decreed the fates of all creatures and ordered the Pen to write them before these creatures came to existence.

Hence, nothing in the universe, until the advent of the Hour, occurs except that it was preordained by Allah.
