حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، (يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ) عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ
قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّا أُمَّةٌ أُمِّيَّةٌ لَا نَكْتُبُ وَلَا نَحْسُبُ الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا». وَخَنَسَ سُلَيْمَانُ أُصْبَعَهُ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ يَعْنِي تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ وَثَلَاثِينَ
The Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) said: The month consists of twenty-nine days, but do not fast till you sight it (the moon) and do not break your fast till you sight it. If the weather is cloudy, calculate it thirty days. When the twenty-ninth of Shaban came, Ibn Umar would send someone (who tried) to sight the moon for him.
If it was sighted, then well and good; in case it was not sighted, and there was no cloud and dust before him (on the horizon), he would not keep fast the next day. If there appeared (on the horizon) before him cloud or dust, he would fast the following day. Ibn Umar would end his fasting alone with the people, and did not follow this calculation.
ইবনু উমার (রাযি.) সূত্রে বর্ণিত। তিনি বলেন, রাসূলুল্লাহ সাল্লাল্লাহু আলাইহি ওয়াসাল্লাম বলেছেনঃ আমরা ‘উম্মী জাতি, লিখতে জানি না, হিসাব করতেও জানি না। তবে মাস এতো দিনে, এতো দিনে এবং এতো দিনে হয়। ইমাম আবূ দাঊদ (রহ.) বলেন, সুলায়মান তৃতীয়বারে একটি আঙ্গুল গুটিয়ে নেন। অর্থাৎ মাস কখনো ঊনত্রিশ দিনে এবং কখনো ত্রিশ দিনে হয়।[1] সহীহ।
عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ہم ان پڑھ لوگ ہیں نہ ہم لکھنا جانتے ہیں اور نہ حساب و کتاب، مہینہ ایسا، ایسا اور ایسا ہوتا ہے، ( آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے دونوں ہاتھوں کی انگلیوں سے بتایا ) ، راوی حدیث سلیمان نے تیسری بار میں اپنی انگلی بند کر لی، یعنی مہینہ انتیس اور تیس دن کا ہوتا ہے
Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Sulaiman bin Harb], telah menceritakan kepada kami [Syu'bah] dari [Al Aswad bin Qais] dari [Sa'id bin 'Amr bin Sa'id bin Al 'Ash] dari [Ibnu Umar], ia berkata; Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam bersabda: "Sesungguhnya kami adalah umat yang ummi yang tidak dapat menulis, dan tidak menghitung bulan demikian, demikian dan demikian." Dan Sulaiman menggenggam satu jarinya pada hitungan yang ketiga; artinya adalah berjumlah dua puluh sembilan dan tiga puluh
İbn Ömer (r.a)'dan demiştir ki; Rasûlullah (s.a.v.) şöyle buyurdu; "Biz ümmî bir milletiz, yazmayı ve hesabı bilmeyiz. Ay (parmakları ile işaret ederek) şöyle, şöyle, şöyledir." (Ebü Dâvûd dedi ki, Râvi) Süleyman üçüncü işarette bir parmağını yumdu, yani (ay) yirmi dokuz veya otuzdur
