Aishah, wife of Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam): The Messenger of Allah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) used to pray eleven rakahs (at night, observing the witr with one rakahs). When he finished it (the prayer), he would lie down on his right side.

Telah menceritakan kepada kami [Al Qa'nabi] dari [Malik] dari [Ibnu Syihab] dair ['Urwah bin Az Zubair] dari [Aisyah isteri Nabi shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam] bahwa Rasulullah shallallahu 'alaihi wasallam biasa mengerjakan shalat malam sebelas raka'at termasuk witir satu raka'at, apabila beliau selesai dari shalat malam, beliau berbaring di atas rusuk kanannya

Nebi (s.a.v.)'in eşi Âişe (r.anhâ)'dan rivayet edildiğine göre; Resülullah (s.a.v.) gecenin bir kısmında onbir rekat namaz kılar, bunlardan bir rekat ile de vitir yapardı. Onu bitirince müezzin gelinceye kadar sağ yanı üzerine yatıp uzanırdı
