The short version
- Some videos are private, age-limited or blocked from being fetched by a server.
- Play it out loud and record a few seconds with Voice; that almost always works.
- Or use the WhatSurah app. It works most of the time.
Why a link fails
To identify a link, the recitation has to be fetched from the site it is on. A private video, one limited by age, or one a site will not hand to a server cannot be fetched, and then there is nothing to listen to.
Record it instead
Open the video on one device and whatsurah.org on another, or on the same phone with the sound up. Switch to Voice, tap, and let it hear a few seconds of clear recitation.
